Over the past five years of summer intensives, I have visited many schools across the US, as well as international programs.  Each improved my artistry however I believe Boston Ballet was the best as I experienced their summer intensive on a full scholarship.  The teachers exemplified their own unique skills which provided me with new ways to express myself.  My technique was challenged allowing me to grow.  I appreciated every aspect of the program and recommend it to improve tech;nique and artistry.  I have auditioned and been accepted into the year long pre-professional program where I will train six days a week and attend high school.

AND

I have been cast as "Clara" in

Boston Ballets Nutcracker Ballet...

           so exciting!!!!

300 auditioned....3 cast as Clara for the 44 performances with a live orchestra.

I attended NYSSSA's month long program for Modern dance taking classes from Carolyn Adams, Julie A Strandberg, and Heidi Sperounis as well as master classes with Robert Battle & Earl Mosley.  Each instructor gave me something important to work on.  I have learned the proper way to treat a dancers body, how to choreograph using writings, how to perform safety rolls, how to strenghten my core.  The history of dance was included.  I have learned so much and am unable to choose a favorite moment because it was all truly amazing!!  NYSSSA has helped me to become a stronger dancer...I am so thankful to have been able to attend the program this past summer.

This summer was a busy dance summer as I located dance programs in our area.  Starting with Rebecca Kelly's elements of Choreography camp as a "choreographer"  Classes in Lake Placid; upper levels and adult classes.  I grew as a dancer enjoying the experience of different teaching styles and critiques.  I attended the Elisa Monte intensive exposing me to different styles of dance.  And than privates with Rebecca Kelly at Cloudsplitter Sutio in Au Sable Forks.  Rebecca focused on pointe work and correcting my weak spots.   As I begin Grade 9 this fall, I will remember everything I learned this summer and continue to work toward the goals I have now set for myself.
